We are so excited to have the new mamaRoo baby bouncer on our site and very soon in our premises! With so much to do, we just added green and orange mamaRoo bouncers for now, but will be adding more colors in the next few days.

They are now ready for pre-order through our website, and will be available on April 30th.

I completely fell in love with them when I first saw them at the last ABC Kids show. The way it moves is like no other baby bouncer out there and I wish it existed when I had my kids. The seat moves up and down, side to side, with what I would call themed motions, all with the purpose to soothe and entertain your little one. There’s the car ride motion, the ocean wave motion, the rock-a-bye motion, the kangaroo motion and the tire swing motion. Of course, what good is moving if you’re not grooving? So, the mamaRoo has 5 built-in nature sounds plus a hookup for your MP3 player. By the way, you can also control the speed of all those motions: slow down for sleep or speed up for play. The LCD display makes the mamaRoo very easy to use and control all the sounds, motions and speed.

The soft toy balls that come with the mamaRoo are decorated in the style of Van Gogh, Monet and Seurat.  For infants the pattern is in black and white, and for older babies in vibrant colors.

We just added some great new gift ideas, which you can see in our New Product page. You will also see some of our new Valentine’s gifts, winter gifts and our Canadiana line, which we are just starting to develop. During our successful Holiday season, not only we sold out most of our Christmas gifts, but also our baby, gourmet and themed baskets. So, now it’s time to completely renew our gift collection.

Today, we will be heading to the Seattle Gift Show, and all I can say is that Picnic Time will be there and we will be ordering a lot of their amazing products to add to our Spring collection. The upcoming American Thanksgiving will kick-off the Holiday shopping season this weekend.

Pacific Basket has been in full production for more than a month now and year after year Thanksgiving represents the transition from corporate orders to personal shopping.

We are happy to see so many valuable customers returning to us year after year and we want to thank them for their continuous support, as well as the many, many new companies and individuals that have come to us this Holiday season.

It’s official! Pacific Basket Company’s new redesigned website is up and running. Although we have redesigned the appearance of the new website with better site navigation, most of the big changes have been made behind the scenes.

Clients will now find it easier to place multiple orders and ship them to multiple addresses across Canada and United States. When placing an online  multiple order, customers could even choose different shipping methods for different products and get shipping transit time information and rates right away.

All the new shopping categories makes browsing through the website a lot more efficient.

With the Holiday season approaching, companies will start putting more emphasis on their marketing campaigns to increase sales and remain competitive. These practices, although enticing, are not always what they appear to be.

To give you one well know example, many online retailers offer “free shipping” – Haha! (agh, sorry). With the price of gas, there is no such a thing as free delivery… maybe delivery included would be more accurate. A few things you need to consider are the size, weight and cost of what you are ordering. The shipping on a set of diamond earrings are easier to absorb than a bicycle. Furthermore, if shipping is included in the price of the goods, the merchant will determine an average cost that will be added to the product. What this means is that customers in a cheaper shipping radius are subsidizing those that are further away.

Señores, shipping IS NOT free UNLESS you really mean it. This marketing ploy became popular during the Holiday season of 1999 to catch the eye of Internet buyers and has evolved over the years. Larger merchants have the buying power to negotiate shipping rates and have the ability to pass these savings onto their clients.

Throughout the years, we have attended many trade shows across the USA and Canada, and most show specials used to include offers of free shipping – something very rare to see today, and I think we all know why. With that said, volume can play a factor as we also offer corporate discounts that can be applied toward shipping as well.

This Holiday season, if you are planning in shopping for Holiday gifts, no matter where you buy them , no matter what you get, just be careful, do your math and make sure you buy from a reliable source.

Although intended as diaper bags, they are transcending into a wide array of uses, such as work bags, handbags, computer bags or even travel bags. Diaper bags are long gone in my life but still, I wasn`t able to resist their red Charlie bag, and my list is long for the new designs coming in the New Year!

In addition to the diaper bags, we will also be carrying some pieces from the adorable Petite Voyage children collection, including the circus print suitcase and overnight travel bag, complete with all the baby’s essentials.

While in Vegas, I also had the chance to attend the Las Vegas Market, a grand trade show featuring furniture and home decor from around the world. Set up in 3 large interconnected buildings, with 12 stories each, every floor has a theme, making viewing efficient.

There was a very strong Canadian contingent and I am sure we will see many of these new designs at home soon. Some of my favorite designs were in children furniture with innovative space design and storage solutions.

Some very fun and innovative decor pieces I saw, were for example, a fish tank, made out of a PVC like material, hanging from the ceiling. A very unique idea, especially if space is an issue. Another item I loved was a white tipi, (shown in the photo), a great compliment for an outdoor pool.

I have two more days here in Vegas, which I will use to go through dozens and dozens of catalogs, finalize some of my orders to have some fun in Vancouver creating the new 2010 baby collection!
